To get the answers to these questions and more, join ePolicy for Young Leaders.
ePolicy is a three-day online introductory certificate course, introducing students and young professionals to a liberal approach to public policy. Our aim is to provide a first look at public policy, with expert interaction, and an opportunity to network with the Centre for Civil Society’s alumni base of over 11,000 students and young professionals.
Engage and learn with a diverse cohort from all over India over three days. ePolicy has a host of live webinar sessions, group discussions, thought experiments, and policy games to provide you a holistic understanding of public policy.
Applications are selected on a rolling basis!
Goals of ePolicy:
- To create an engaging, open, and respectful environment where everyone is encouraged to think critically about social, economic, and political issues.
- To evoke in participants a passionate inquiry into their own values and role in creating a good society.
- To equip participants with fundamental concepts of political economy and sound public policy, and enable them to understand the root cause of current challenges in order to effectively champion for policy solutions through their profession.
- To plug participants into a global network of opportunities in order to propel their intellectual growth, make personal connections, and access resources to help them advance their vision of a free society.

Faculty Profiles:
Dr Ashish Kulkarni
Dr Ashish holds a PhD in Economics and has taught courses in Economics, Finance, and Statistics for over fifteen years. He currently writes a daily blog for econforeverybody.com. In his corporate career, he has worked at Genpact, Fidelity Investments, and Suzlon, India's largest renewables company. He has been trying to demystify economics in various colleges since 2009 and reckons that the battle will probably last for life. Helping students fall in love with learning is his career goal. Reading and eating would be his goods of choice on an indifference curve diagram.
Dr Ghanshyam Sharma
Dr Ghanshyam holds a PhD in Economics from Clemson University. He has previously taught at the State University of New York, Oswego, Seton Hall University, and Hiram College. He has been an Adam Smith Fellow at Mercatus Center, George Mason University and Koch Summer Fellow at the University of New Orleans. He has previously served as a Consultant for the Planning Commission of India and at the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER).
Mohammad Anas Khan
Mohammad Anas Khan is a graduate student in the Environmental and Social Change Program at the University of Winnipeg. He is also the President's Distinguished Graduate Scholar 2022-2024 at the University of Winnipeg, and an awardee of the Province of Manitoba's Research- Manitoba Award. He is a law graduate and has a post graduate diploma in Human Rights. Anas is also an alumnus of the Property and Environment Research Center, in Bozeman, Montana. He has worked with the Centre for Civil Society - New Delhi as a Senior Associate for 2.5 years where his work focused on forest rights, and environmental justice for West India's coastal communities. His current research interests include rights-based approaches to conservation and development, public policy, legal pluralism, new legal realism, and environmental justice. In his leisure time, he finds comfort in books, movies, and long walks to the fridge.
Sourya
Sourya is an Advocate licensed to practice in Delhi and has previously worked at a law firm in Hyderabad prior to joining the Centre for Civil Society. In addition to his five years of experience with CCS, he has provided legal and policy consultancy services to various non-profit social organizations, including the Red Elephant Foundation, Red Dot Foundation, and Tarunima Foundation. Sourya has received training as a Peacebuilder from UNESCO MGIEP and has also served as a Students for Liberty Local Coordinator in Hyderabad. He frequently writes and comments on law and policy, regulatory policy, and institutional economics, and in his free time, he runs a citizen journalism platform named Arguendo.
Aakriti Parashar
A data and public policy enthusiast, Aakriti graduated from Jesus and Mary College with a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. Currently an Associate at Centre for Civil Society, she works on projects in the gender, education, and climate change space. Aakriti has previously worked as a consultant with the Delhi Government in the Chief Minister’s Communications team and interned with a former MP. She has also been a Policy in Action fellow with YLAC. Throughout her undergrad, she has led projects in the non-profit sector, focusing on sustainable development, livelihoods, and climate adaptability. Aakriti is also an avid writer, expressing her insights on social, political, and pop culture topics through short form articles, which has recently extended to policy analyses.
Nadia Samad
A commerce graduate from Sri Venkateswara College, Nadia Samad is a Policy Scholar from Global Governance Initiative. She has worked on projects with start-ups, the private sector, and the government sector in organizations such as Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and Bajaj Finance. She has worked with several underserved communities- refugee communities, disaster-hit communities, overlooked genders, and artisans through several projects. She is currently working with the Centre for Civil Society and contributing to bringing social change through Public Policy. As a CCS associate, she has worked on the ‘Blue Curriculum for a Sustainable Future’ project, highlighting the imperative need for ocean literacy within the South Asian region.
